Course Introduction
Effective
August 1, 2007 this online course will be replaced
by the 406-page book "Appraising
Personal Property: Principles and Methodology" by
David J. Maloney, Jr., AOA CM. As of that date, the
educational requirements for designation in the AOA
can be fulfilled by attending approved courses or
through these alternative pathways.
Note
that AOA members in good standing as of August 1,
2007 wishing to earn their AOA designation will be
permitted to make use of "Appraising
Personal Property: Principles and Methodology" and
take locally-proctored exams as in the past. They
will have twelve months to make use of this option.
AOA
Members joining after August 1, 2007 (and existing
members after August 1, 2008) seeking designations
will be required to attend approved courses which
have proven to be a preferred method of learning.
