REGISTRATION
FORM Members of the AOA in good standing as of August 1, 2007 will be permitted to satisfy their educational requirements for designation in the area of appraisal principles and methodology by testing-out making use of "Appraising Personal Property: Principles and Methodology" by David J. Maloney, Jr., AOA CM as the course book. Testing-out must be completed prior to August 1, 2008. After that date, AOA members will be required to attend on-site courses in order to satisfy their educational requirement for designation. There are two "closed-book" exams. The student must register separately for each exam and pay a $75 exam processing fee to the AOA for each exam. The exams are completed in the presence of a proctor. Proctoring can be done by learning centers (e.g., Sylvan Learning), library staff, college or university officials, law enforcement officers, or clergy. The student will be responsible for any additional fees that might be charged by the proctor. All exams must be completed and returned to this office prior to August 1, 2008. Each exam consists of 100 multiple choice and T/F questions. Three (3) hours are allowed to take the exam. The first exam will be based on material covered through page 140 of the course book. The first exam will also be based on the contents of "Introduction to Online Appraising" which can be found online here. The second exam will be based on material covered on pages 141 through 314 of the course book.
